HPLC DETERMINATION OF SALIDROSIDE IN THE ROOTS OF RHODIOLA GENUS PLANTS

This paper reports a high performance liquid chromatographic (PHLC) method forthe determination of salidroside in 10 samples of the plants of Rhodiola crenulata, R. alterna, R. breripetiolata, R. yunnanensis and R. quadrifida as well as extracts of R. crenulata. Determination was carried outunder the following conditions: column (μBondapak ODS, 10 μm, 3. 9 mmx300 mm), mobile phase(methanoi--water, 2:8), flow rate (1.0 ml/min), detector (Waters 484, wavelength 276 nm).External stadard method was used. The results show that HPLC is a useful tool for the quantitativeanalysis of salidroside in the plants of Rhodiola genus and the extracts of R. crenulata.
