THE STRUCTURE OF YUZHIZIOSIDE IV FROM THE SEED OFAKEBLA TRIFOLLATA (THUNB.)KOIDZ.VAR AUSTRALIS

Four triterpenoid saponins were isolated from the seeds of Akebia trifoliata(thunb.)Koidz.var.australis (Diels)Rehd.Its chemical structures were elucidated by means of chemical andspectrometric analysis.One new compound(yuzhizioside IV)was elucidated as:3-O-β-D-xylopyra-nosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyra-noside and the other three are known compounds:saponin B(I),saponin C(II)and saponin D(III).
