STUDIES ON RAPID PROPAGATION OF DENDROBIUM CANDUM IN VITRO

The seeds of Dendrobium candidum germinated easily on medium (1/2 MS) without NAA and BA. The embryo germination and the derivation of protocorm were promoted when NAA or potato extract was added to the medium. However, the proliferation and growth of protocorm were inhibited when BA or NAA+BA was added in the medium.The aqueous extract of banana or potato and the alcoholic extract of Quercus glauca bark apparently accelerated the plantlets regeneration and rooting.
