OPTICAL ROTATORY DISPERSION AND CIRCULAR DICHROISM STUDIES ON NOR SESQUITERPENE LACTONE DEGRADATED FROM QINGHAOSU (ARTEANNUIN)

In this paper, ORD and CD of a nor sesquiterpene lactone (Ⅰ), a degradation product of Oinghaosu (Arteannuin), is reported, and the absolute configuration of (Ⅰ) is deduced. The oxidation product (Ⅲ) and reduction product (Ⅳ) of(Ⅰ)as well as the hydrogenation product (Ⅴ) of Arteannuin B are also investigated. On the basis of these informations and of chemical reactions, the absolute configuration of (Ⅰ) is confirmed.
