STUDIES ON THE CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS FROM THE ROOT OF SIRAITIA GROSVENORII
-
Abstract
AIM: To look for new compounds with anti tumor activity from the root of Siraitia grosvenorii. METHODS: The compounds were separated by chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH20. Their structures were determined by spectral analysis. RESULTS: Four compounds have been isolated from the root of Siraitia grosvenorii, they have been identified as siraitic acid A(I), B(II), C(III) and E(IV). CONCLUSION: Siraitic acid E is a new compound; preliminary antitumor test showed that siraitic acid B exhibited significant activity in vitro.
