Abstract
AIM: Looking for new compounds with strong anti-tumor and anti-virus activities from Fissistigma polyanthum Merr. METHODS: Various chromatographic techniques were used to separate and purify the constituents.Their physical and chemical properties and spectral data were measured for structural elucidation. RESULTS: Five compounds were isolated from the methanol fraction of ethanol extract of Fissistigma polyanthumd Merr, a medicinal plant of Annonaceae family. On the basis of spectral data (UV, MS and NMR) and comparisons with known compounds, their structures were identified as fissistigmoside (1), 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl-1-O-β-D-glucoside (2), glucosyringic acid (3), dacosterol (4) and inositol (5). CONCLUSION: Compound 1 is a new compound, compounds 2, 3 and 4 were reported in this genus for the first time.
