THE CHEMICAL STRUCTURE OF NEOHYACINTHOSIDE

The structure of the fourth glycosidal stteroidal alkaloid isolated from the bulb of Northoliron hyacinthnum (Wils.) Staff was identified based on MS and ¹³C-NMR data as solanidine-3-0-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glucopyraneside. It is a new compound, named neohyacinthoside.
