STUDY ON STEROID SAPOGENINS IN SOME CHINESE MEDICINAL PLANTS(II)

Two of the three substances which had been isolated from Yucca filamentosa L.were identified as tigogenin and gitogenin,and the third one has now been proved to be hecogenin.Hecogenin and Chlorogenin have been seperated in the ratio of 9:1 from the mixture of sapogenins isolated from Agave americana L.From Ancmarrhena asphodeloides Bunge about 0.5% of Sarsasapogenin was obtained.
