Abstract

A novel spin labeled analogue of podophyllotoxin glycoside 9 was synthesized by condensing 4′-demthyl-epipodophyllotoxin-β-D-glucopyranose and 4-formyl-2,2,6,6-tetrahydropuridine in presence of p-TsOH and triethyl orthoformate. It was shown to exhibit activity compatable to VP-16-213 in inhibiting L₁₂₁₀ cells.
