STUDIES ON THE CONSTITUENTS OF LATERAL ROOT OF ACONITUM CARMICHAELI DEBX.(FU-ZI) Ⅰ.ISOLATION AND STRUCTURAL DETERMINATION OF SALSOLINOL

From the lateral root of Aconitum carmichaeli Debx., Fu-Zi, which has long been used as one of the most important herbs as a heart stimulant in Chinese medicine, a cardiac and hypertensive principle Ⅱ was isolated and identified as salsolinol, 1-methyl-6, 7-dihydroxy-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroisoquinoline, from its spectral data and by comparison with synthesized authentic sample.
