PHENOLIC ACIDS FROM THE BULBS OF NOTHOLIRION BULBULIFERUM

AIM: To study the chemical constituents of the bulbs of Notholirion bulbuliferum(Lingelish.) stearn. METHODS: The chemical constituents were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, and the chemical structures were elucidated by IR, ¹HNMR， ¹³CNMR and MS. RESULTS: Six phenolic acids and esters have been isolated from the n-butanol extract, and three other compounds have also been isolated from the petroleum ether extract and CHCl3 extract of this plant. They have been identified as methyl p-coumarate(I), p-methoxy cinnamic acid(II), p-coumaric acid(III), ferulic acid(IV), ethyl caffeate(V), 1-O-caffeoyl glycerol(VI), β-sitosterol(VII), β-sitosteryl glucoside(IX) and n-octacosanoic acid(VIII).CONCLUSION: Compound VI is a new compound. The others are isolated from this plant for the first time.
