STUDIES ON DITERPENOID CONSTITUENTS OF HEDY CHIUM FORRESTII AND THEIR CYTOTOXIC ACTIVITY

Investigation of the rhyzomes of Hedychium forrestii Diels.afforded a new labdanetype diterpenoid named forrestiin AI), together with three known ones hedychenone(III),7-hydroxyl-hedychenone(IV) , and coronarin A(II).Their structures were determined by spectralmethods, All of them showed antineoplastic activity.β-sitosterol was also isolated.
