THE SOURCE UTILIZATION AND EVALUATION OF MEDICAL KUDZU AND KOOTS FROM THE GENUS PLANTS PUERARJA DC,IN CHINA

Accordjng to the investigtion of 9 species and l varity of Pueraria DC,P.lobata and P,thomsonii are regarded as the main commedity in traditional Chinese drug"Kudzu".P. lobata,which distributed in most provinces in China, has aboundant resources.P. thomsonii has been cultivatedin Guangxi for a long time,other species are mainly distributed in southwestern China and a few ofthem are used as Kudzu in some areas. Based on the resuIt of quantitative determination of effectivecompounds,other Pueraria species can not be used as Kudzu except P.thomsonii and P.thomsonii.As to thepresence of species argument of P.omeiesis,further study is necessary,because its compostionquantity is similar to that of P.thomsonii,but different from that of P.montana.
