CHEMICAL STUDIES ON ACTIVE PRINCIPLES OF VERATRUM STENOPHYLLUM Ⅱ. STUDIES ON THE STRUCTURE OF A NEW BLOOD PRESSURE LOWERING AGENT——STENOPHYLLINE A

Stenophylline A (V₃), a new compound, was isolated from Veratrum stenophyllum Diels. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectrometric data (UV, IR, NMR, MS). Stenophylline A was shown to have significant activity in lowering blood pressure and heart rate on anesthetic cats and dogs.
