ANALYSIS OF GINSENG Ⅲ. ISOLATION AND DETERMINATION OF GINSENG SAPONINS

Abstract
From the root of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer cultivated in China five saponins Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Re and Rg were isolated by HPLC and were identified. Using these substances as standards a method for the determination of ginseng saponins by combination of TLC and densitometry has been proposed and applied to the comparison of saponin contents in various samples.
