STUDIES ON ANTIMALARIAL AGENTS ⅩⅣ. SYNTHESIS OF TRIFLUOROMETHYL-QUINOLYL-TETRAHYDRONAPHTHOLS AND AMINOPHENOLS

  • Twelve 2-(alkylaminomethyl)- 4-(7′-trifluor omethyl-4′-quinolylamino) -5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1-naphthols (Ⅰ) hydrochloride and thirteen 2-(alkylaminomethyl)-and 2,6- bis-(alkylaminomethyl)-4- (7′-trifluoromethyl-4′-quinolylamino) phenols (Ⅱ and Ⅲ) hydrochloride had been synthesized and screened for antimalarial activity against plasmodium berghei in mice. Preliminary results showed that all compounds exhibited marked antimalarial effect. Compound Ⅰ3, Ⅲ2 and Ⅲ3 suppressed parasitemia at 2.5 mg/kg.
