THE STRUCTURES OF TWO NEW FLAVONOID GLYCOSIDES FROM BAI-SHUI-CHA,A KIND OF CAMELLIA SINENSIS L.

  • Bai-shui-cha, a sort of Camellia Sinensis L., grows widely in the mountainous area in Fan-cheng county, Guangxi. It is used as a traditional folk beverage and is said to have anti-inflammatory anti-hypertensive and sedative activities. From the leaves of this plant, a known flavone (Ⅰ) and two new flavonoid glycosides (Ⅱ) and (Ⅲ) were isolated with a total flavonoid yield of 13.2%。 On the basis of IR, UV, 1H and 13C-NMR, MS(FD, CI), GC, GC-MS and chemical evidences, compound Ⅰ was identified as apigenin. The structure of Ⅱ was elucidated as apigenin-5-O-α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→4)-6″-acetyl-β-D-glucoside. and named camellianin A and Ⅲ as apigenin-5-O-α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→4)-β-D-glueoside, named camellianin B.
