A NEW CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEM FOR SEPARATION OF BIOMOLECULES
-
Abstract
In this paper we have described a new methodology for fast separation of charged physiological biopolymers with retained or improved resolution. Besides being of great interest in fields where ionexchange chromatography traditionally are used, the speed and simplicity of the FPLC technique offers interesting, possibilities in clinical research. On basis of the results obtained FPLC seems to be a suitable technique for separating serum proteins in urine. The protein compositions of urines from different pathophysiological states differ considerably from each other and from normal urines indicating that this technique could be used for rapid monitoring of the status of patients with various diseases.
