QUANTITATIVE ANALYSISOF MUSCONE IN MUSK BY GC

The benzene extract of musk was directly determined for muscone by GC. The conditions of quantitative analysis such as the choice of chromatographic columns, extracting solvents and time were studied. The results of standard curve and recovery experiment are satisfactory in the GC method. The analytical results of 50 batches of muscone in musk were calculated with, normal distribution. GC—MS was used to ana-lyse the purity of the chromatographic peak of muscone.
