AMPEROMETRIC TITRATION OF ALKALOIDS Ⅰ. DETERMINATION OF COPTIS ALKALOIDS

    Abstract
  • A method for the determination of Coptis alkaloids is reported. The sample is ex- tracted with pH 2.6 buffer solution (Na2HPO4-citric acid) in a glass-stoppered flask. After filtering, the filtrate is rendered alkaline with NaOH and total alkaloids are ex- tracted with ether. The content is then determined by amperometric titration with silicotungstic acid at -0.4V(vs S.C.E.) in 0.05-0.2M K2SO4 medium. he average deviation is less than 2%.
