A STUDY OF EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN OF RABBIT METHOD FOR INSULIN ASSAY
-
Abstract
This paper reports the dose-response relationship at different times after the rabbit was injected with various doses of insulin. At 2~3 hours, after injection of insulin we found that the differentiation of reduced blood-sugar reaction caused by various doses, was the most evident. The results obtained for nine batches of insulin (including powder and injection) by this method carried out at 2.5 hours to determine blood-sugar value, were mostly in conformity with those bythe mice convulsion method. This rabbit method Was found to be of higher precision and more accurate than, the USP ⅪⅩ rabbit method. A simple and convenient rabbit blood-sugar method for insulin assay was provided through the study of various designs.
