ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF THE ALKALOIDS FROM ANCISTROCLADUS TECTORIUS

The crude alkaloid extracted from the stems and twigs of Ancistrocladus tectorius (Ancistrocladaceae) was found to have inhibiting effect on Walker 256 tumor in rats. Two known alkaloids were separated and identified as ancistrocladine (Ⅰ) and hamatine (Ⅱ). Besides, a new alkaloid named ancistrocline (Ⅲ), C₂₆ H₃₁ NO₄, mp 227-228℃, α_D^{33.5+61.7 (CHCl₃), was separated and proved to be 5-(4, 5-dimethoxy-2-methyl-naphthyl)-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-6-hydroxy-8-methoxy-1, 3-dimethyl isoquinoline by spectral analysis. According to NMR spectral analysis, the CH₃ groups 1-and 3-positions of ancistrocline (Ⅲ) are equatorial.}
