Abstract
AIM To study the chemical composition of the leaves of Eucalyptus camaldulensis var. pendula Blak. et Jacobs. METHODS Column chromatography was used to separate the chemical constituents. IR, MS, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, 1H-1H COSY, 13C-1H COSY and X-ray diffraction were used to determine the structures of the isolated constituents. RESULTS Five compounds were identified by spectral analyses as 1-triacotanol(I), β-sitosterol(II), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid(III), β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(IV) and camaldulenside(V). CONCLUSION All compounds were obtained from Eucalyptus camaldulensis var. pendula Blak. et Jacobs for the first time. Among them, compound V is a new one.
