Angeliticin A,a newchromone,hasbeenisolatedfromanethereal extract ofthe root of Angelica polymorpha Maxim by silica gel col um n chromatography together w i th on e k n own compound saxalin.Angeliticin A was found to be white granulous crystals with mp l 77～178℃, Its molecular formula is C₂₀H₂₂O₇.On basis spectral data ( UV,I R,MS ,NMR,COSYas wellasDEPT) its structure was identified as I. It is soluble in MeOH, DMSO and pyridine, sparingly soluble in CHCl₃.
