SIMULTANEOUS MULTIPLE PEPTIDE SYNTHESIS USING THE MULTIPIN METHOD

In an effort to employ high throughput peptide synthesis technology for bioactive protein research, a pilot study was conducted using the multipin system provided by Chiron Mimotopes.Nineteen peptides were successfully synthesized simultaneously on the pins. All the peptides obtained were of high purity as shown by HPLC and correct sequences as inferred by MS. We concluded that the multipin method is a powerful technique for protein and peptein and peptide research and highly recommend the use of the multipin system as an economic alternative to expensive peptide synthesizer.
