THE SEPARATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF CARDIAC GLYCOSIDES IN THE KERNAL OF CERBERA ODOLLAM
-
Abstract
Four cardiac glycosides (Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ) were isolated from the kernal of Cerbera odollam growing in Hai-Nan Island. They were identified as monoacetyl-thevetin B (Ⅰ), thevetin B (Ⅲ), and their 7,8,-epoxide derivatives which were tanghinoside (Ⅱ) and desacetyl-tanghinoslde (Ⅳ).By enzymatic hydrolysis with the enzyme existing in the kernal four monoglycosides, cerberin (Ⅴ), neriifolin (Ⅶ), tanghinin (Ⅵ) and desacetyl-tanghinin (Ⅷ) were obtained respectively.Tanghinoside (Ⅱ), tanghinin (Ⅵ) and desacetyl-tanghinin (Ⅷ) had not been isolated from Gerbera odollam previously.Desacetyl-tanghinoside (Ⅳ) was a new compound.
