MORPHOLOGICAL AND HISTOLOGICAL STUDIES ON ANDROGRAPHIS PANICULATA (BURM. F.) NEES. AND COMPARISON WITH FOUR OTHER ACANTHACEAE HERBS

The anatomic features of leaves and stems of Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees. with Da-Chin-Yu Strobilanthes cusia (Nees) O. Kuntze=Baphicanthus cusia (Nees) Bremek., Hua-Tun-Chin Dicliptera crinita (Thunb.) Nees, Wa-Zi-Chau Rostellularia procumbens (L.) Nees=Justicia procumbens L., and Hug-Ge-LanStrobilanthes japonicus (Thunb.) Miq. have been compared carefully for the reference of appraisal and the collection.We repeatly studied the anatomic features of leaves and stems only in Antragraphis paniculata (Burro. f.) Nees, during the different stages of their development. The result confirmed that their features were different in each stage. Therefore we considered that the stages of development could be determined according to their different anatomic features.
