TRITERPENOIDS FROM CLEMATOCLETHRA SCANDENS
-
Abstract
AIM To investigate the triterpenoids of the roots and stems of Clematoclethra scandens (Franch.) Maxim. METHODS The methanol extracts were suspended in H2O and then extracted with petroleum ether, EtOAc and n-BuOH, successfully. Column chromatography was used for separation and purification, while spectral evidence was used for structure identification. RESULTS Five triterpenoids were isolated and identified as 2α,3β,24-trihydroxyurs-12,18-dien-28-oic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (I), niga-ichigoside F1 (II), asiatic acid (III), 2α,3α,24-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (IV) and 2α,3α,19α,24-tetrahydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (V). CONCLUSION All compounds were isolated from the plants of this genus for the first time. Among them, I is a new triterpene saponin.
