COULOMETRIC TITRATION OF THE TOTAL FLAVONOIDS AND HYPERIN IN SAURURUS CHINENSIS (LOUR.) BALL

Coulometric titration of total flavonoids and hyperin in Saururus chinensis (Lour.) Ball with electrolytically generated bromine was studied. After solvent extraction of the crude drug, hyperin was separated by thin-layer chromatography. The titration was carried out in a mixture of 2 N HCl—1M KBr-EtOH. The end point was detected by the dead-stop method.The advantages of this method are simple, rapid, accurate and can be used to analyze small sample.
