THE SEPARATION AND DETERMINATION OF PUERARIN BY HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY

This paper reports the separation and quantitative determination of puerarin by HPLC method. The column used was Partisil-10μODS with MeOH:H₂O:CHCl₃ system as the mobile phase. Total flavonoid of pueraria can be separated within 40 minutes. The content of puerarin was determined at 254 nm by external standard method.Preparation and isolation by C₁₆ reverse phase column of a constituent(tentatively named OMe-puerarin) which is separated from puerarin only with much difficulty is also described.
