ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF SANCHINOSIDE B₁ AND B₂ FROM ROOTLETS OF PANAX NOTOGINSENG (BURK.) F. H. CHEN

Two minor saponins, Sanchinoside B₁ and B₂ were isolated from the rootlets of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen. The structure of Sanchinoside B₁ was established as dammar-20 (22)-en-3 β, 12 β, 25 triol-6-O-β-Dgluxopyranoside, a new dammarane-saponin. The sapogenin dammar 20(22)-ene3 B-12 B-6α, 25 tetrol was also shown to be a new sapogenin. Sanchinoside B₂ was identified to be a known saponin, Ginsenoside-Rh₁.
