CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF MAESE PERLARIUS

AIM: To study the chemical composition in the whole herb Maese perlarius. METHODS: Various chromatograthic techniques were used to separate and purify the constituents. Their physical and chemical properties and spectral data were measured for structural elucidation. RESULTS: Two new compounds were isolated and identified as olean-12-en-3β,16α,21β,22α-tetrahydroxy-28-al (1) and 21β,22α-diangeloyloxy-13β,28-oxydoolean-16α,28-diol-3β-O-(［α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-galactopyranosyl(1→3)］-β-D-alactopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucuronopyrannoside (2), respectively. CONCLUSION: Compounds 1 and 2 are new.
