OBSERVATIONS ON THE BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF LOVAGE (LEVISTICUM OFFICINALE KOCH)

Observations on the growth and development of the lovage were taken during the years of 1961 to 1963, when the author tried the propagations of the lovage in Peking. This paper reports the biological characteristics of the growth, bloom, fructification and winter dormancy, and observations on the phenological periods of this plant.
